Hey guys, I will be applying for a mortgage in the next few months.

I have 2 collections. 1 I sent a PFD and haven't heard anything back yet but it's a small balance 55.00. The other is 1123.00 and it's with hunter warfield. I'm kinda scared to send a PFD because I'm scared they will just get pissed and sue me. My MB says not to pay it now because it will only update, but I want it OFF!! I know I've asked this before but I just want to see if I can get a little more feedback. Should I go ahead and send a PFD, pay it then GW, or listen to my MB and leave it alone until I (hopefully) close on my home????

IME, when a CA tried to sue me, I have enough time (3 months)to pay before the court date. After I paid, the CA canceled the court date and agreed to delete the CA from my CR's too.

I would suggest sending the PFD letter, it would be up to the CA on whether or not they will accept.

If they accept great, if not paid then GW later.

The only hitch in sending the PFD is that they have no requirement to respond, so you may just sit and wait.

With a mortgage app planned in the near future, you may be faced with a requirement on the part of the mortgage lendor to pay the delinquent debt as a condition for approval.

If you receive no response to your PFD offer, then you may have to shift to a plan B.
