topic WTH HSBC in Rebuilding Your Credit

Just used the website yesterday for no score hit obligation to check for preapprovals. It specifically said no hard hit. Got an alert about a hard hit this morning. What can I do? I'm so upset.

Can you post the link ? Someone else posted about the same issue a few days ago, but they were actually filling out a CC application on the HSBC website, so it made sense that they would get an inquiry.

HSBC stinks!

I applied for a secure card back in February. Didnt hear anything until end of March. Sent in $200 check that they held onto until April and cashed.

Got a DENIAL letter yesterday saying only one HSBC card per person?!?!? **bleep**! I dont have ANY credit cards!

Called today to ask about my $200.

"It will be mailed and call back if I dont get it by the end of JUNE"!!

Run, dont walk away from this scam of a company!

Yeah, this is actually a credit card application. Same thing that the other person did. Except that it didn't have the disclaimer that is on this website " That's it! Plus, there's no risk to your credit score to view the details of the card."

I would expect them to pull your credit if you fill in the information they request on that application, such as SSN, mother's maiden name, etc.....
