Anyone with PFD success for Meridian Financial?

(Long story shortened a bit)

I bought a house in 2009 and sent a change of address along with my timeshare maintenance fee check. The check was cashed, so I know they received the address change. However, I didn't receive the maintenance fee bill the next year (due January 15th for 2010). I emailed the resort asking for the bill indicating the new address again, but never received it in the mail, so I forgot about it until August 2011 when a collection showed up on my report. I went back and checked my junk mail folder and there was an email from the resort in March asking for payment along with late fees. I sent another email to the resort asking for a bill total for 2010 and 2011 but never heard back from them.

Not to justify my action but this resort has gone downhill in the last few years, but hiking the maintenance fees every year and asking for 2 special concessions within 3 years making the maintenance fees close to $1200/year without anything to show for it. So I decided I no longer wanted the timeshare and would deal with the CA.

CA is Meridian Financial. They managed to find my cell phone number to start calling me, but I've never received a Dunning from them (funny they found my phone number but couldn't manage to find my new address even though it had been given to the resort AND it's current on my credit report!). So it was a little bit of a surprise when the CO popped onto my report, but not completely unexpected.

I've been reading up on this forum about timely DVs and figured in my situation it wouldn't be, so I'm thinking I'll attempt a PFD.

So I have 3 questions:

1. Has anyone dealt with Meridian Financial regarding a collection for timeshare maintenance fees? If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to hear your situation and how you handled it.

2. If you have, can you PM me with any good contact information for a PFD?

3. If you've had a collection for timeshare maintenance fees, did you negotiate with the resort to 'get back' your timeshare, or did you ignore it and get hit the NEXT year again?
