My score has not increased much but I feel good about the occomplishments I have made. I have made this into a game and when the day is a good one i pounce on it. Remember to stay positive and do what you can on your good days and keep on the up. I have a lot of ideas to get that score up if you are interested pm me, or just pm me if you need a chat..good luck

Hi to all the fine people in the communities - after several long hard battles with OC's and CA's, I finally got my results from EQ. today, let's just say, I feel like i have been beaten in the head with a baseball bat. After 6 collection account deletions and 1 improved account, my EQ score went up by 22 points, I know I should look at the bright side of things and see improvement, but I don't. I really don't know if it's worth trying to do anymore. My spirit is completely broken right now. I wish to thank all the people in the communities that gave advice and were so knowledgeable on the subject of CR's. So, THANK YOU, I sincerely appreciate each and everyone of you.

Trust me, I totally understand... I have been fighting a losing battle with my utilization %, trying to get my score up. I just paid $2500 toward my revolving debt, bringing me below 50% and guess how many points my score increased? ZERO... I wanted to cry when I saw the # and realized nothing had improved.

But remember, this is a journey and it does take time. And the other frustrating thing is that you'll see the most progress toward the end when your credit file starts to lose all of the baddies. I don't know what's on your CR, but if you have a lot of baddies, getting a few removed, no matter how much blood sweat and tears went into it, unfortunately, won't make a big difference initially, but don't give up!! I feel your pain completely

Kenworthguy

You gotta remember, just because you had six deletions doesn't mean you score will instantly go up. It is all a complex formula. And if you are still reporting baddies, then you weren't looking to get a big bump anyway.

But 22 points? That is a significant gain. Maybe not the 100 you were hoping for, but I feel like I have had success foe each single point. You made a choice to take over your financial life, you took the time to educate yourself, you took the time to learn the ropes and tackled it with gusto. You saw a 22 point gain. This is something to crack a beer over. Not something to feel negative about.

I know how you feel. I used to be skinny and gained over 100 lbs. I weighed 255 lbs on NYE this year. I wanted to be 200 by summer and I'm down to 215. I was really upset about it, beating myself up over those days I was too lazy to go to the gym or the cheating on my healthy eating, but man, I lost 35lbs in 6 months! Something to celebrate!

Plus, the habits and the knowledge you have gained will take you to that next step before you know it.

I am not trying to be rah-rah, but it's just the lay of the land with credit repair. Time, time, time and time.

-scott

Hi everyone, let me start by saying thank you, sometimes a person needs a few words of wisdom and or encouragement, both of which i am receiving from your messages. sometimes i just have a tendancy to let things bother me to much, I have to remember that things are not all that bad. In your words of wisdom and encouragement, I find myself being reminded of another situation that i have dealt with.for the better part of 4 years, i have been battling my way back to physical health from an automobile accident that according to doctors, i should not have survived but i did although it left me disabled. there have been days when i just didn't feel i was making the progress i should and i wanted to throw in the towel but i never have and i never will, I know things will get better on both fronts, it's just like one member here said. TIME TIME TIME and TIME. thats what it takes more than anything, well that and hard work, bad days may get me down but i won't let them keep me down. encouragement from people both known and unknown, like the people here will help keep me going and i know that soon, maybe not as soon as i would like, I know i will be back both physically and financially. I just have to let time heal all the wounds. Again, THANK YOU all so much for the wisdom and encouragement, It is truly appreciated.

Sometimes it can be confusing as to which persona you are using when posting multiples of time.

On your topic, FICO is just a 3-digit number. It doesn't know if you are a deadbeat looking to steal from companies or people, or if you ran afoul or ran into bad luck due to the economy, or if there was a situation where a loved one or family member didn't get covered by medical insurance. FICO just looks to see if there are collections or not and scores accordingly. Maybe due to medical privacy laws, it doesn't look to see if your debt is medical-related or not.

I think your issue lies with the creditor, or the medical office in the case of medical debt.

BTW, medical debt does not have to stay on for 7 yrs. It can be removed early with help from the collection agency and/or medical office. Probably most of the posters in Rebuilding had success in some form or another in removing old debts like that.
