Will these Collection Agencies PFD?

Hi Everyone,

My credit is pretty bad and I've been trying to fix it over the last couple months. I paid off a few collections before I found out about PFD and GW letters. I still have 5 accounts open with collection agencies, 3 paid collections and one charge off auto loan. I'm willing to pay all 5 CA accounts in FULL, if they delete them and I've sent letters to them stating that. (it's only about $1300 total). I was wondering if anyone has had success with PFDs to my particular owed accounts or GW letter success to my paid CAs.

Any success with PFDs to:

MediCredit Corporation in Corona, CA

Merchant Credit Assoc in Oceanside, CA

Midland Funding in San Diego, CA

Payliance in Columbus, OH

Progressive Mgmt Systems in Covina, CA

Any success with GW letters to:

AlliaceOne Inc. in Harbor, WA

Capio Partners in Sherman, TX

Ford Credit in Omaha, NE

I got MediCredit to accept to PFD. But I haven't even heard back from the rest.

Should I just continue to send out PFD and GW letters? Has anyone had success with any of these?

I've had success with multiple places by waiting until I have the money in full, then contacting them and saying, "If I pay this balance off today in full, will you send me a deletion letter?" I've done this three times and all three times were successful. Whatever you do, be sure to get something in writing (letter, email, etc) agreeing to the terms before you pay them any money.

I will also add that I sent a PFD letter to a collection agency handling an old T-Mobile account. After a few months I didn't hear back from them, so I disputed the validity of the debt with the CRAs, informing them that I had disputed the debt with the collection agency and they did not respond to the dispute within 30 days. BEcause of that, it was removed from my report.

Progressive Management was the most customer friendly and cooperative collection agency that I've worked with dealing with my reports.

I was also able to do a PFD with Midland.

You're right Progressive Management was very friendly. I had another debt that had gone to them, but hadn't hit my CR yet. I called them to make payment arrangements for both last month (before I found myFico). Their CSR told me I'd be better off paying the new collection first (even though it was a smaller amount than the installement I was willing to pay for both), that way the newest one wouldn't hit my CR and I could deal with the old one later. I'm going to call him tomorrow and try to PFD the older account.

I hear Midland is one of the hardest to PFD, I was going to leave that one for last, but if they accept to PFD I'll pay them right away. Do you remember who you talked to or wrote to? Can you send me that info?

I'm local to San Diego. That's where midland is located, so maybe it helped a little when I was on the phone. They can see my area code and obviously my address on file.

Hi, I only have experience with Progressive Management Systems (PMS, lol). In my case they were handling two medical bills ranging from $200-300 each from a hospital visit I made 6 years ago. They were only reporting to TU. I sent a Pre-HIPAA letter to TU via certified mail earlier this month. I received a response from TU last week indicating they were deleting both tradelines. Both accounts were unpaid.

That's great. What's a Pre-Hippa letter? Do you have a sample? Maybe it can work for me because all but one of my collections are from hospital visits.

I have 3 collections from 2 yrs ago, all hospital bills. Can someone share info about the pre-HIPAA letter or any other PFD letter?

Progressive was great they did PFD and deleted, midland had to age off for me but have seen others get a PFD from them.
