First PFD letter - Southern Credit Recovery NEED ADVICE

Anyone here in Louisiana deal with Southern Credit Recovery? They are VERY hard to deal with and I want to mail out a PFD Monday to remove some collections from my CR. Anyone have any luck with them? Please help me, they are very hard to deal with.

I dont want to mess this one up.

Just did some research on them. They seem to deal with a lot of medical collections. Is this what yours is?

It sure is. These are what are listed on my credit report. Over half are southern. I havnt paid any of them so I would like to try to PFD. SPrint is going to fall off because it couldnt be verified on the other two, equifax is just SO SLOW. I just dont want to mess this up because the medical somehow was verified. When I asked transunion and equifax for MOV they just ignored it. I asked sent another letter to experian telling them they havnt honored my request and still have not heard back.

The only dates I can infer from this report is the assignment date. Are these recent? Do you know the DOFD? I take it you've tried a PFD and was denied? Was this your first letter?

With the exception of sprint these are from this year. Only have 5 and 6 on TU and EX but equifax is hit with all of them. I disputed some of them and they came back. I have not tried the PFD yet with this company I hope it works.

Yes I am going to. Unfortunately they are my first on my list but I have to deal with them. I have already opted out, so if they remove it I understand it cant be mistakenly picked back up by someone else. I will do PIF too because they are so LOW. Does that sound right? I am looking for a simple PFD letter, found a few online .. I will pick the simplest one for them.

But they like money more so it's worth a try. The opt out thing does not preclude another CA to pick up or post an account to your CR. Sorry to have to tell you. If they have a legitimate collection with you the opt out does not stop anything. This only stops the CRAs from sending out your info for promotional purposes.

Okay I have a small problem with these people. Back in July I got this really rude person on the phone that told me I should have payed my bills. Is there anything that I can do with the hospital instead of dealing with these people? Does anyone have any advice?

Much appreciated, I am just worried once I send the pFD it is going to give them an oppurtunity to just reopen all the cans of worms. This is some additional information I found. I found out my moms doctor is the president of one of the areas. I am about to talk to him on her next appointment and see if there is anything he can do, maybe he can pull some strings. I have had a small taste of these people they really should be shut down and I am sure break every FCRA law they can. I would love to walk in there with my attorney!

Maybe. Try contacting the hospital, ask if they own the debt.

if the hospital owns it, ask if they will agree to accept payment. Also if they will agree to pull back the debt from the CA.

If the hospital sold the debt to the CA, then the hospital cant help you anymore. You will have to deal with the CA.

"Pulling back of a collection" by the OC terminates the collection authority of the debt collector, but does not require the debt collector to delete any legitiamte reporting of the fact of their prior collection authority. Acts by the OC do not compel a third party to delete their legitimate reporting.

The OC can request their prior debt collector to delete, but cannot compel them to do so. With their collection authority terminated, it most likely would not put the debt collector in a receptive mood of voluntary deletion.
