I was approved for $1K "GREEN" Capital One credit card over the weekend, so I cut up and closed one of my 2 First Premier cards. First Premier gave me a $45 credit on my 2nd account to keep it open.

Did closing your account negatively impact your score?

You may lose a few points for closing the tradeline. If the closure happened post 12 months of opening the account, your AAoA also takes a hit. If it's closed within 12 months, supposedly it doesn't take a hit.

My account will be 2 years in December. It was my first cc post filing. Now that I'm discharged I'm afraid of closing the account & losing points I've worked so hard to obtain. However I feel like I'm buying points at $6 a month(annual fee).
