So I started looking into this and realized there was only one time I was behind. I called First Federal (CA) and asked when I owed this money, got the date and called Time Warner (OC). Time Warner said I didn't owe anything. I called First Fed back and they said I did. The lady said she could delete it from cras if I paid. Called the CA back again and had the lady call Time Warner to verify I did not owe anything. She verified this with them and told me she would mark it as paid.

Since I never paid or actually owed this money I would like it off my reports as opposed to a paid collection.

What would be my next step with that?

I could have paid the $200 and had it deleted, but really didn't want to pay since I didn't owe it

Hi, Ive been reading this forum for over a year now and have learned so much.

I have 2 collection accounts from Time Warner Cable. One is with CMI (Credit Management) and the other is with First Federal Credit Control. Both should be paid as I am currently a Time Warner Customer. First Federal is showing an unpaid balance and CMI is showing paid/closed. The collection accounts are for 2 different times I was behind. The first time I was told by my cable guy to keep my equipment when I moved and he would take care of it when I got connected at my new house. The second time the bill didn't get paid I wasn't living at the house. I paid Time Warner directly both times, however it wasn't the amount the CA's report.

I'd like to get these off my report, but they have stayed after disputing with the CRA's. Not sure what my best option would be. Should I send a goodwill to CA, or a dispute to First Federal directly since they are still showing it open and unpaid? I was thinking maybe an email to Time Warner Cable asking them to delete also.

Thanks in advance for any advice

If they are paid, then definitely start the GW process. See how that goes.

Thanks for the response. Should I start gw directly with the cable company or the CA? Or both? They are paid in full through cable company but the one CA is reporting unpaid. Thanks again!

In this case I'd do a direct dispute. I can't help you with the specifics of the process because I've yet to do one myself, but I'm sure someone can chime in
