This is on an EFX report. After account name unknown is a code 701yc00000* or some variation. There are several on my wifes report and one of them is tagged as disputed, how strange. Should I write EFX and ask them to provide a number, address and contact phone number of the furnisher or delete? Should I "dispute" these entries as inaccurate or incomplete? I'm trying to get a mortgage and need her scores (595) up about 25 points. I don't want to make things worse.

When they code accounts like that, its almost always a medical collection.

Do not dispute. Most mortgage lenders do not allow disputed accounts on your CR.

Where did you get the report, direct from EQ or from a 3rd party?

It is possible they are medical collections as they are coded sometimes to prevent HIPAA violations.

They showed up when Wells Fargo pulled our report for a mortgage application and they are on the report I got from Scorewatch. One as I said is listed as disputed.

So should I just write EXF for name address phone number etc.? They are medical collections, duplicates I think.

You can call them which might be easier. Also ask for the dispute to be removed.

Have you made this kind of call before with any success? If so do you have a phone number that will connect to someone that can resolve this for me?
