Consistently Late on CC Payment - Impact on 6-8 Months of On Time Payments

Hi Guys,

I have a credit card which I have been consistenly late over the last 18 months including the following:

30 days late- 7 times

60 days late- 11 times

90 days late- 1 time

I was wondering what the impact on my credit score would be if I made 6-8 months of on time payments. My current credit score is 567 and hoping to reach 620. All my other categories are currently reading good or very good, but my payment history is very bad in large part to this credit card. (BTW the whole thing was a misunderstanding where I thought they were suppose to deduct it from my paycheck but obviously not until it reached a certain level and was garnished.

That's a bit confusing. Did you have a judgment? Who garnished your wages?

its a military star card.....they garnish wages from military members pretty easily if they are past due from what I learned.

I'd pay on time for 6 months and ask for a gw of the 90s as a gw. But yes it should begin to improve then also some may drop off.

Yep, going through that right now. They will garnish every 3 months.

The lates are definitely hurting. And it depends on what CSR you get to ask for a removal.

If you did not know, if you ever find yourself getting behind, they do have the authority to reset your account so you do not owe anything currently and remove the late payments. I have used it once or twice. The last time I talked to someone the CSR was a horses behind.

They are also not to good at admitting their mistakes. My card is now listed as fraud because, without my permission, tried to take money out of my bank account. It was returned unpaid. When I asked about it they said I must have had made arrangements, which I did not. Now, I cannot make online payments, I have to send them in.

I have in the past.

This time I just let them garnish. I'm retired so they don't take that much.
