I have 2 30 day late payments on my capital one from dec 2006 and from July 2007. Any one have info on how to get this removed and how it will affect my score? Also would a phone call or a letter work better. I've never been late again and now am I PIF person.

Also, I am shooting for an AMEX this year but have this and I have 4 baddies but 2 paid off and 1 I'm in the works of paying off. Last FAKO score I got was 620.

Any advice is welcomed

The lates are probably not impacting your score too much. They tend to lose strength after about 2 years.

For the baddies paid off start sending off GW letters.

The two 30 days lates from 2006 and 2007 are most likely having no impact on your score anymore, they only sting for around 2 years. You can try sending out GW's to get them removed if you like. I would focus on my current baddies.

Typically do GW letters work for removing paid baddies?
