AAOA and collections

So my spouse just had his last collection removed from his equifax report. If collections arent factored into AAOA, then why did he lose a point? He still has one paid charge off from 2008 that capital one agreed to remove on two seperate occasions but is still lingering. So it cant be an issue of rebucketing, right?

One point? Lol. I supposed it could be rebucketing. Or maybe it's just attributed to something else. He's an AU on some of your accounts?

I have been cleaning up both of our reports. I was thinking possible rebucketing but I have read that you arent rebucketed until the last negative comes off and there is still one remaining.

I shall surpass you on my road to catching Guiness! BWahaha

No. He only has two credit cards, installment loan with perfect history, closed auto installment with perfect history and the paid auto charge off. Other than the paid charge off there are no lates or any other derogatory listings.

With nothing else going on on his report, the likelyhood of being rebucketed with a major derogatory is slim. But, it does happen. It happened to another poster with a major derogatory still on his report and was verified by the CRA that is what happened.

Thanks Guiness. That really is the only thing I can figure because everything else is exactly the same as before the score drop. It was only one point, so it really was a curiosity thing.

So today, I experienced a 1 point loss as well. So I took the advice of the infallible Guiness and called Equifax. I am now being scored differently because I have no collections. I guess a new bucket is worth the 1 point loss.

Yes it is. And you should see your score go up and even out with those in the same bucket faster now.

Yay! The bucket thing makes me feel better about only gaining 5 point for bringing down my utilization from 29% to 3%
