Judgement question

So I have a judgement against me by Chase that's showing up on my CR. It says it was reported in 2009. What should my next steps be? The amount is for $2056. Do I call and set up a payment plan, settlement? Or should I send a DV letter?

I would call. You don't want to have garnishments start to take place out of no where.

Is there anyway I can strike a deal with them so that they'd take it off my CR?

To quote, click the repy radial on the post you want to reply to. Upper right hand corner is a quote radial. Click that.

The attorney cannot take it off your CR. But you could ask that once paid if they will file a motion to vacate.

When you are replying to a post at the bottom right it says reply.

Do I file a motion to vacate or do they? If they do a motion to vacate what does that mean?

Call the court house and ask them to send you evertything they have. You can ask them to look at the process service and see who signed for it and when.

Vacating a judgment is like it never happened.

I'm working on a judgement myself and have a question...if I wanted to offer a settlement would i mail it to the attorney or to the CA themselves?

I called the attorney who had the judgement and they gave me a number to Chase directly. My bal was $2076 and I settled for $1000!!! That's the last thing I owe on my CR!!! I settled most of my CO's, I was able to PFD one, but the rest I wasn't successful. It's okay, I just want it paid and off my chest. Now to be patient and rebuild my credit!!!

Just so you are aware, you may get a 1099c for the difference.

Either you or them can probably do it.

Vacating a judgment means it never happened.

If they sent you a 1099-C for the debt 2 years ago, that is debt cancellation. There should never have been a judgement.
