LegalShield, anyone use?

Hello..

New to the forums... just wondering if anyone's heard of LegalShield or pre-paid legal. A mortgage broker I was working with recommended them to be able to assist with debt, help getting companies to remove lates, settle with CAs. Has anyone used them? Know if they're worth paying for?

There is nothing they or any one else can do for your credit that you can not do for yourself!

IMO none of these type of companies are worth paying for unless you just do not have any free time available. Some of them charge a one time payment while others charge monthly, while some charge a set up fee and a monthly charge.

No, never heard of them.

But, I would be hesitant to use them. Some of the "best" have really done more damage than help a person in repairing their credit.

You can do the same thing for free, except the cost of postage.

I've actually had "Prepaid Legal, Legal Shield", since the 90s. I've used them for various legal issues, including attorney letters, etc. to CAs, but they don't offer a credit repair program.

Not exactly true. If the credit issues are related to identity theft then Yes we do fully restore on all 3 credit bureaus. Also if something is wrongly reported they will help you dispute and get removed

We have two incredibly identity plans which monitor and restore your credit. It sounds line you may not have one of these pans but only the Legal plan

And even if they did, why pay for something you can do for free yourself.

We own a bunch of real estate and use thenm for attorney opinions and such as well as other legal means.

I used them as well and pay a relatively small monthly payment. You get access to hundreds (but possibly thousands) of local lawyers. I saved many hundreds of dollars when I bought a new home because their lawyer was able to review the contracts for me and I didn't have to pay anything because I was a member. Also, they have a monthly credit monitor system that is mediorce in my opinion. I still prefer myfico over them.
