I have a medical collection, i thought that medical collections would not hurt your credit score. This collection also poped up recently. Even thoe its from a few years back, is there anyway to get this off?

In the eyes of FICO, a collection is a collection.

Where it may be overlooked is on a manual review.

Is it paid?

Medical collections are actually the easiest to remove depending on your situation of course, the older the better.

I suggest you read up on the HIPPAA process on this website.

I agree, a collection is a collection. Your score doesn't care what type or even how much it is. Have you tried for a PFD?

Lasardo could you please send me the HIPAA info also. I have about 5 medical collections on my credit from a while back when I was sick and they are they only thing on there. I would love to be able to have these removed. Or do a PFD or something.

OK I am slightly confused here, but also new to this process.... Is there any other information I can go looking for to better understand this...

I have paid all of my Medical Collections, they are from very long ago, One is 2006, one is 2007, and couple from 2008... I know they are mine so I dont need to dispute it...

Have you tried sending GW letters for these collections since they are paid?

I was going to and then i saw this post about hippa and got all confused!!! so since they are paid and i should just do the GW letters and not have to do any Hippa letters??? Is that my understanding
