GW letter to Sears

So hubby and I have since been denied for a new mortgage loan Come to find out a lot of it is due to Sears. I NEVERED used that card, and last June/July I used and COMPLETLY forgot about I had used it. Well My bills were going straight to my spam folder (unknown to me till now) and I never paid it. So when hubby and I go to get a pre-approval thinking we won't have any issue as we have always had good credit we are denied The card is now paid off, but I am trying so hard to get it off our credit reports.

Any advice???????

QUestions, I was given one address over the phone to send the goodwill letter to, but I have also read it is good to send a GW letter to the address on the CR. Should I sent a GW letter to both addresses?
