Point Drop when Judgment dropped

Hi,

I am new to writing to the forums, but have been following for several months and have been successful with several goodwiIls. Thanks to everyone for all the great advice.

I checked my credit report today and noticed that a judgment that has been on my report since 2003 is gone. Great right? Well I also lost 14 points to my Experian score, is this common?

yes and no. it may have something to do with re-aging your file, or the drop could be from something else entirely.

You probably were rebucketed too which could account for the decrease.

Re-bucketing tends to occur when you are grouped with people that have similar CRs as you.

You were in a bucket with people that had Public Records.

Now you are in a bucket with people that have no Public Records.

Being re-bucketed is a good thing. It allows you more room to increase your scores.

Your scores will increase again over time.

Until is past CRTP, there is a chance it could come back.

Welcome. Another thought:

Was this one of the oldest accounts on your record? You could have lost age when it dropped. I'm expecting that to happen when my reposession falls off in November...

PR and collections are not counted in age.

Hi Schnapple,

The PR was from 2003.

Sidewinder says PR and Collections don't count towards age.
