First Premier Nightmare...

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I have disputed this First Premier cc a total of 3 times and each time is comes back as being valid. When I submit the dispute the reason is that the account doesn't belong to me, although it does but the balance is still showing as due but was w/o and sold to a collection agency. has anyone disputed with First Premier and had any luck? I'm trying to purchase a house and this is the only obstacle I'm having. The collection agency isn't showing on my credit report either but First Premier says I can't settle with them or they can't update the balance to reflect a $0 because they no longer have it. Any suggestions?????

Status: Account charged off. $356 written off. $357 past due as of Jan 2012.

Status Details: This account is scheduled to continue on record until May 2016. This item remained unchanged from our processing of your dispute in Gag 2013.

Welcome to the forum. If the account belongs to you, your reason to dispute it as 'not yours' is invalid . If you have not been contacted by a CA yet, you probably will soon. Have you asked FP who they sold the debt to?

First Premier is tough to work with I had 0 success with PFD or GW

Welcome to the forums.

Are you sure it was sold and not just assigned to the CA? If it was only assigned they both are allowed to report a balance.

If it has been paid you should dispute directly with FP and not the CRAs.

Thank you its my first post... Yes FP has told me they sold it to Calvary but the CA has never posted to any of the three CRA's. The debt is approaching 4 years old and i worry if i continue to inquire about it, it will be reaged.

Nothing can reage it to make it stay longer. If FP is reporting a balance and they should not be it needs to be corrected because it is inaccurate and it is factoring into your utilization.

Thank you for responding.. But that's the tricky thing because FP is saying they are reporting the balance as accurate but how could that be if the account has been sold to Calvary? Moving forward how would I get the CRA's to report the balance as $0?

Chances are good that FP did not "sell" the debt (I'm in a similar boat). They like to assign different CA's to collect. I've only been softed by a couple of them but no collection accounts have been placed on my report. They will direct you to pay the agency and then they'll update to $0 after that. I've tried to PFD with no luck...haven't tried recently because mine is due to fall off in December so I can't be bothered....
