AFNI INC Old cingular account

I had a old charge off with cingular (AFNI)from 2002 reported to transunion and equifax.They changed the dates to show reported on 02/2004.I disputed this with each agency and transunion sent me a letter showing this account was deleted.Equifax however sent a letter saying that it was verified.How is this possible ?

I have the same issue. I just don't understand this myself.

The dates are relatively unimportant, except for DOFD. The report date is the date they reported to your CR.

If DOFD was changed, then it could mean it was re-aged. If concerned about that, I'd recommend calling EQ and ask for the drop off date. Confirm that with what they say is the DOFD (7-7.5 yr difference). If they tell you it will fall off in 2011, then it was re-aged. If 2009, then you're OK.
