Hi all,

I've gotten a couple of ugly things taken off and am waiting for a couple of pending investigations to complete to check my scores.

So meanwhile, I have a WaMu/Providian account to decide what to do with. It was opened in 1999, which is good for age, so I was going to leave it alone, but it's also closed, paid, settled for less than full balance. I just noticed that TU is reporting that over $4000 was written off. That's not possible. I remember negotiating to pay the bulk of it, like 75%, $2880, and refusing to pay the ridiculous fees at the end. Now, it has years of good history, and then a string of bad history when our income took a major hit, and then charge off, and then it reports as okay. I do have a mortgage opened in 1998, so I have something older than that, and I don't have a lot of newer accounts, but I don't like that it reports that WaMu lost $4000+ on me, especially when it's not true.

If I ask them to report it accurately, will they delete it? And is it worse to delete, or worse to list as legally settled for less than whole balance? I take it WaMu is tough to GW from searching the forum.

Thanks in advance...

They may be a little nicer. I only have checking and savings accounts with them so not too familiar with their other types of accounts. I am sure someone else will be around to give better advise. Good Luck!
