The executive office is your best contact. They are the only ones at Cap 1 that can or will do anything. Be warned that they are hit or miss. Some get lucky. Some don't. Google their email address. It's all over the internet.

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions and address to help me get a charge off removed from Capital One.

I have been a excellent customer of capital one since 2004. I always paid my bills on time and mostly in full every month. In 2012 I decided I would cut my card and no longer use a credit card and go on my debit card after taking a daves ramsey financial peace course. Well since my card was paid up at that time I had a lot of things go wrong in my life. So I didn't exactly pay attention to my mail but I had everything setup to autmaticaly withdraw from my checking account and evidently capital one had stopped doing this auto. So a charge for about 30.00 in actually fees turned into a 300.00 + 120.00 collection fee. (everything over 30.00 of true chargers were late charges and intrest.)

Scared I got a call from a collection people who told me I was going to go to court and frantic scared and not knowning.. I JUST PAID THEM. THAT VERY DAY IT WAS CHARGED OFF FROM CAPITAL ONE.

I tried a good will letter...That failed...I tired to pleat to them and work with there account reps that failed..

I then hired Lexington Law..... BIG MISTAKE.

Lexington Law for the last 6 months have been sending out letters to capital one and every letter has bounced that they have sent to captial one on my behalf. They refuse to refund any monies and claim that because they DID SOMETHING that they were not accountable even though I have 4 months worth of letters of the 6 month I have been with in sitting in my hands. They tried to tell me that they sent them to diffrent address at capital one.. THEY DID NOT. I then received that they sent my account information to Chase bank and was told that Chase bank purchased Capital One and thats why it was sent to them. They then tried to tell me that the diffrent addresses.. Basicaly they are not responsible.....

If Someone has some good suggestions on who to talk to at capital one for a GOOD WILL DELET LETTER I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

Thanks! If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it!

I would suggest the following approach, to the ear of a management official with oauthority to grant exceptions to normal policy......

A charge-off is, in substance, the placing of a comment in your credit file that the creditor has made the determination that you are not going to pay the debt.

If you subsequently do pay the debt, that is an indication that you do in fact pay your debts, but were only going through a temporary hardship.

Once overcome, you paid it.

Thus, the statement in your file does not accurately reflect on you as a consumer, and deletion of that comment would more accurately reflect upon you as a consumer who does, in fact, honor their debt. Playing on the assertion that deletion would be in the best interest of the system.

They also agreed to remove the chargeoff at the 6 1/2 yr mark which is in march vs waiting the full 7 yrs. once the TL is deleted I'll lose my oldest account AAoA. so it may be a score wash...but would much rather have the judgement removed then the age!

Good to know! I have 1 Cap One and 1 HSBC. Do I go through same EO for HSBC now? Mine's are due to fall off April and July of 2016. I'll start begging six months prior. Haha!

Every little bit counts lol. Not sure about whether it's the same number for HSBC. But my rep was a previous HSBC worker. She made comments about the system still being unfamiliar to her... I think it would be a good place to start
