Verify that it's past your states SOL and if so just sit back and wait for it to drop next yr. The longer it goes the more power you have and the less they have. I would only settle it if you are going to app for a house before it disappears... The CA has to abide by the OCs DOFD as well so both will disappear next year off your CRs.

I have been trying to get First Premier to do a PFD on a $452 charge off and keep getting shot down. In their latest response to me I feel like they screwed me in a sense. First off, the charge off in itself is scheduled to fall off June 2015. I had gotten a settlement offer from a CA for this charge off for $225. They had yet to report anything on my reports. My plan was to hopefully get First Premier to agree to a PFD so that I can get this taken care of and that it would keep the CA from reporting at all. If that failed, I was going to agree to the CAs settlement terms with the condition that they dont report anything to the CRAs after payment since they still arent on my reports.

I do want to get this taken care of but if I pay First Premier now then it will remain on my reports for another 7 years instead of falling off next year correct??? It is too late to go to "Plan B" because in their latest response to me they advised me that they have since recalled the account from the CA. Its good in a sense because it will in fact keep another collection off my reports but bad in the sense that I will not get this debt taken care of. So should I just wait for another year to get this to fall off or what other options do I have other than keep PFDing them?? Should I offer to pay with the condition that they reopen my account and extend me credit again or is that a bad idea also??

Paying off the charge off will not change the date that it falls off. The fall off date is based on the date of first delinquincy which cannot be changed wheather you pay it or not.

They are notorious for not accepting PFD or goodwill.

The downside to paying it, is that they will update the charge off as "paid after charge off", so the charge off conotation will not go away and when they update the tradline you may take a score hit as the CRA's may treat it like a "new" chargeoff.

Ive had this exact problem with them for a charge off that is scheduled to fall off in July 2015. They updated the charge off this month and it made my EQ and EX scoires drop by close to 60 points each, even though there was no material change.
