5 Year old CO

I know that the general strategy is to get recent items removed from your cr but how much would a 5 yr old co off from AMEX effect your score?? Since its so old I am wondering if I should just leave it alone. This was a corp AMEX and AMEX will not remove!!

How old is this compared to your avg. age? Is it open or closed? If open, do you have any other open CCs? Why do you want it removed?

Is this CO paid or unpaid? What stste are you in?

If paid and you live in N.Y. you can get it deleted BUT if not in NY your stuck with GW letters but whatever you do do not dispute it!!!

Its actually paid but there was a settlement accepted on this acct. I was just wondering if it was having a bigtime negative impact on my score.
