I have a Midland collections on my credit that was from an old T-Mobile Account. It is on all 3 reports. It is paid and the original Date of Deliquency with T-Mobile is 5/2008. Would it be possible to have it removed now? It will only be 6 years this May but I was wondering if anyone has had success getting paid items removed earlier than the 7 year mark?

Well it has been two weeks and I still haven't seen any changes to my reports or heard from Midland. However, I had pulled copies of TU and Ex from AnnualCreditReport.Com and learned that it is scheduled to fall off on 10/14 regardless! I am hoping that since it is only 6 months out, that they will drop it. I also put in requests with CB requesting they be dropped off. I really would love to see these gone for May reporting!

Note that contacting the furnisher of the information is a totally different process than contacting the CRA for earlier exclusion.

CRAs are required to monitor the reported DOFD, and ensure that they excluded the collection from any credit report they issue after 7 years plus 180 days from the DOFD.

They dont "delete" the collection from the consumer's credit file, they discontinue showing in subsequent credit reports they issue.

The debt collector has no involvement in that process beyond having provided the accurate DOFD.

Requesting a CRA to exclude at an earlier time is not an issue of inaccuracy of reporting, and thus not a disputable matter. It is a request for their admin action at an earlier time.

You can alternately contact the debt collector and request that they delete their reporting. Then CR exclusion becomes moot.

Thought I would update! Experian called me today and told me they will be deleting my Midland Collection 3 months before it was planned to be removed from my CR. I had spoken to them last week about it and asked a CSR to forward the request to a manager. They took my number and then called me today to inform me that it would be removed on Aug 15th from my CR.

EQ is the last one I have to address.
