Well I have been perusing these boards for a while now so I thought I would give my little experiences so far. I dont know my Ficos I only have Fico8 from Merrick to go off of. I got a 200 dollar secured card from Merrick bank last year in Feb and started with a 488 score from them. I had multiple derogs on report from early 2009. After one year my score went up to 598 on Merricks site. During that time I got a call from Jeff Cap to pay one of my derogs and get another cc in the process so I took that and recieved new card with 250 limit on it. I also blew the tranny in my car and had to get a loan from Springleaf. So score dropped 40 points after getting loan but I am well on my way to better credit. I hope to have sprinlgeaf paid off at end of the year. i am going to get a Harley secured card from my bank in the next few months, I am waiting till I have had loan and new cc for 6 months before I get Harley card. I'm gonna take the payout I get back from Springleaf and tax return from next year and bump up the limit on my Harley card to around 2500. Hopefully all this will get me in the door for a Wally Discover which will lead to probably my last credit card... Discover. In the next 2 years I should then be able to get my final goal....... a Harley

Good, sounds like a plan. Going forward avoid finance companies at all costs they decrease score, though this one was most likely the only option for you at the time. Good luck

Is your springless loan paid off ? I ask because the reason your score may have dropped is because of your card utilization. I suggest paying that off with your tax refund first.

Nah its not paid off but I don't see any problem with it being paid off by january of next year. That would give me a year with an installment loan. I can pay it earlier but i already have it so.... I will pay it for a year. And since it will be a year I should get maybe 900 back when I pay it off. That in addition to tax return should be about 2k to up my Harley card next year.

I understand not wanting to use family for help. But in the end, I ended up needing to borrow from my parents. Paid them back finally. If you can do it without help, then by all means, go for it.

I have borrowed in the past as well but....... like most f&f loans I have slacked on paying it back. Probably still owe him about 5k. The good thing is he thinks like me. I will tell you I am loaning it to you but I don't expect to get it back. My sister is the suck up one. He cosigned for a new car for her not to long ago. I digress though because I am not her and also have no child to take care of.

well i decided to poke the bear and see what happens. i disputed the 2 FP CO's that are on my report. they are paid so not much can happen. hopefully they cant find my info and they disappear who knows. not i until atleast the 19th of this month. then its on to continental finance. gonna try the 2008 ruling will see what happens im not sure if i do or dont fall under it. but again can't hurt.

shopping cart success. just got an express card. ten days i will know what they gave me. i prolly wont use it more than once or twice a year. they do have shirts that fit me real nice short and scrawny.

well i decided to poke the bear again. i disputed continental finance on experian report. it falls under the 2008 ruling so it should fall off. im hoping it will come off all three with one dispute. we shall see. i cant dispute on tu because i already have one going. cant dispute equifax there site has always been bugged for me. it never verifies my identity. so ill wait a month after all of the disputes are done and then sm them to see whats what.

im going to wait till dispute with transunion is done but anyways i have a little to report. i poked the bear last month and disputed tu on my first premier accounts. well....... about a week later ck put a new collection as being reported, from nrg collections. i have known about this for sometime. it has been on report since 2011. i logged into ck today and...... the name has changed to enhanced acq but same open date. now i only put so much stock in ck, with that being said i will wait and see what happens with fp disputes and await a dunning letter from new ca if they have infact bought my debt. tu should be done on the 19th and i will then order a new report and see whats on there. dont worry i know what the debt is for, it is mine, and i have the money to pif. it is still within the sol but only just inside. i knew all this when i picked up the stick to begin poking. but you have to ruffle some feathers to get an egg.

logged into transunion to check dispute process.. they gave me some kind of manual review message. i will now have to play more waiting.

well time to start gw'ing first premier. they did update with the correct info though and both fall off in apr 2016 so we will see what happens with gw letters. im still waiting to see what happens with experian and continental finance. and sending a dv letter to the new guys on the block, enhanced acquisitions. attempting to put them in a catch 22 if thet don't have their ducks in a row. ill update and give all the deets when they respond. and last but not least i got my highest limit card 350 on express next card using the shopping cart trick. gonna garden for 6 monthes then go try for hd secured from usbank, where i have had my check and savings for the past 5 years. keep pushing everybody

no worries i got them from some one on the big long fp success post. im not highly concerned im not going to apply for any loans until i have had everything fall off and im rebucketed sometime in 2016. its just something to do once a month while i am waiting.

dv letter sent to enhanced acqusitions llc. they just opened company in jan of this year so lets see how they play ball. one thing to note, from what i have seen it appears these guys bought my salute account, if this is the case they have failed to send my a dunning notice. no advice needed just stating for future reference when other people read this post. will update later.

well still waiting on enhanced to send me something. ill give them a full 30 days. on a side note my ck score dropped 6 points woohoo, and my fico 8 went up 42 points
