WOKE UP TO NEW COLLECTION FROM TXU ENERGY ON SETTLED ACCT!!!!!!

Pulled my USAA credit monitoring acct this morning like I do every morning and low and behold see a NEW collection from TXU Energy for the difference of the total acct and settlement amount paid on my Experian!!! LIVID!!! I settled this acct back in June with their collection agency Convergent Outsourcing for $815.29 on a $1466.07 utility bill from 2010. Neither has ever reported to any bureau. But, because I kept seeing sp from Convergent on Experian, I contacted them and accepted setlement. SO, WHY would TXU NOW decided to report ANYTHING to my credit, but certainly should NOT be reporting the DIFFERENCE on an account that was settled paid in full!!!! DEVASTATED because my bureaus are collection free and 8/4 is my 61 day for my new Amex to request cli. NO WAY I will even attempt now until I can get this deleted from my Experian. I'm sure they reported to all 3.

Yes I emailed a copy to an exec at TXU. I just can't believe this is happening. I have worked so very hard to clear my credit the past 10 months. Feel like I have been kicked in the stomach.

B-Girl feel your pain, sorry to hear it.

Now I'm super worried this will happen to me. I've got a energy bill out there to, that I've gathering the funds for right now and tring to keep from my report. How was dealing with Convergent ? So your original account holder reported you or convergent?

Original OC TXU Energy after paying the settlement to Convergent. I didn't really deal with Convergent much. Saw they were sp'ing me on EX so I took settlement to PREVENT this from happening.

I hear ya. You we're definitely better off dealing with the Original creditor, apparently convergent outsourcing can be a complete pill.

So did your bill actually end up in collections?
Did you request that they do remove it from collections?

Maybe it was a error. I suspect you don't think so since you seem to already be in the GoodWill process.

Tried to pay TXU. They insisted I pay CA. Begged to have it recalled back to OC. They refused. Charged off 2010 so yes went to collections. Never reported till now AFTER settlement paid.

It sounds as though 'someone' at the CA reported the balance not realizing that it's a settlement.

This sounds like an easy removal. And it should be removed. Stay vigilant. I had a medical ca report AFTER I paid it. I called, they immediately filed the deletion.

That is a nightmare, Baller. I sure how they get that straightened out for you quickly. I wonder how long I'll be looking over my shoulder worried about past stuff popping up? Grrrr.. .good luck and keep us posted.

Convergent says they reported correctly to TXU that it was a settled account with $0 bal. Of course, they are passing the buck to TXU saying someone there dropped the ball or "made a human error" as the rep put it. Just waiting now for response to my email from TXU EO. Exhausting.

Just got call from EO that they will be deleting account from credit bureaus and apologized for inconvenience. Emailed deletion letter to me while on phone. AMEX did my AR the SAME day this new CO posted. Ugggghhhhhh. Guess I won't be requesting 61 day cli after all. Will have to wait till they see the CO gone.

Very frustrating! For future reference, anyone needing help with a TXU CO, ask for the Office of the Seal. That's the name of their EO I guess. Oooohhh fancy. Lmao.
