Hello, new to the forums, and I have a question I'm not so sure of how to proceed on. We've just both (Hubby & I) signed up for the service to try to get everything in order because we're trying to buy our first house (YAY!) but discovered some off things in our reports. If anyone can give me some advice that's be grand!

I had a Comcast account which I thought I had paid and cancelled in June 2009, when I switched providers. Stellar Recovery is on my report with the original creditor being comcast with the date assigned of 3/28/11. Now, since I stopped my service with Comcast in June of 09, and therefore probably stopped paying them before June of 09, hasn't the 5 year SOL on this debt ran out? Why does Stellar Recovery have the ability to put this on my report as of 3//2011? Is that when they purchased my debt? Regardless of that, doesn't the original debt still stand as of June 09? I'm just trying to figure out the best option and route to get this settled. Granted if I do owe the amount due (It's small) I'd be glad to pay it to have it settled and off my report, but I find it unlikely Stellar would do that since their reputation is anything but less than!

Thanks again!

couple things here....on your report what is the last reported date of activity?

assuming that the last date of activity is June/09 ...then this collection will stay on your report for 7.5 years from June 09.

to get this off your CR...

you need to call Comcast and see if you could pay them...if you are able to pay them ...do it......then send a dispute with the CRA. ...and also send a DV letter to stellar....they won't be able to validate the debt because there is no debt... keep us updated on your progress
