Goodwill letter to remove atleast 1 late from car loan

Hi,

I am still so new to fixing my credit (on my own). I have been to a couple different counselors over the past 2 years but the advice wasn't really how to raise my score and finding this board has been amazing. Im super nervous but I hope I have done all the right things.

So my new question is about getting a late payment removed from my Ally Auto loan. I had late payments back in 2012 because we were just suuuuper broke. At the time I was just trying to keep the rent and electric paid and not getting the car repo-ed. So we managed and my husband finally (after 3 years) got his VA compensation and we have been able to keep on top of it since then. The only mistake I made was at the beginning of this year I have a 30 day late. Its such a bummer. I really want to get it removed. Its not an error but right after that we paid like $3000 on it and actually haven't had to make another payment since then... I do make the payments almost every month anyways and I think my next payment is technically due until december. Can anyone tell me what I could do to convince Ally to remove the one late payment from Feb14? I am willing to do just about anything. I read on another site that offering to sign up for auto pay to have it removed could increase my chances.

My husband has been wanting a truck for a few years now and after next month we are going to buy it. Its gonna be a big purchase and I would like to do everything I can to increase our chances of getting a low rate. I will have our credit cards at 10% UTL by then.

Also if you have any good contact info for Ally Financial then I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much everyone.
