I HAVE 81 INQUIRIES!...........I'm an inquiry addict!

I hate to say this but I have 81 inquiries to date, I had only roughly 40 when I made myself a promise to garden....but that didn't last instead I doubled my inquiry for a couple of cards that wasn't even worth it. Well....this time I'm going to the garden for awhile. I don't know why I keep appling knowing I would not be approve. I guess it's not about the acutal credit but for getting acknowledgement that you got approve. Does anyone here feel the same way or have as much inquiries as I do? Thank you in advance.

I'd like to apply, but I refrain. I understand how getting approved can be like a Christmas gift but I think when you are getting a high from applying 80 times it might be a bit of an addiction, lol.

Maybe set different goals that make you feel just as accomplised like stepping up your daily run 1/2 mile. You will feel accomplished and making your body happy.

Yes you are absolutely corrrect and thank you for your input. I do have refrain myself for any future apps for awhile. Matter of fact I have way too many cc and once I pay off some of them, I'm gonna cancel it because have too many cc can hurt your score specially with high utilization.

Not only that, its a recipe for failure. The idea here is not just to 'get credit' but to learn to manage credit wisely and learn control. If one cannot control their App'ing, then its highly likely they will not be able to refrain from running the cards up as well.

My thoughts exactly when I first read. Yes, I have that wishful thinking for the Sallie Mae, the Amex Blue, etc. I will research, and I feel a little giddiness when thinking of raking up those rewards. But I am nowhere NEAR approval merit, I just pull up lender on whogavemecredit.com to see the scores and income (the higher you go, the more care should be taken for DTI also).

STOP APPING!! I worry when there will be 5 for my next major pull (May 2015, at least they all won't be this year).

You can just pay them off, and not use them rather than close them.

OP, I know how you feel. My scores have gone up substantially & I'm at a point where I could apply to some okay cards, but per the advice on the forums, I'm going to wait about 8 months or more for my neg accounts to fall off and because my inquiries will go down.

Instead of applying to new cards, focus more on fixing your credit (such as stop getting more inquiries) and focus more on soft pulls such as CLIs or PCs. that way you get similar rush but without the consequences.

Every time you app, just think, it's that much farther down the line you can app for something that really does matter. You might come across an amazing rewards card you really want 5 mos from now, or 8 mos from now but ooops, you've still got tons of INQ's. Keep your hands out of the cookie jar, and work on your UT by paying your cards that you have down and not using them. The longer you withhold from apping, the easier it gets to refrain.

i understand you fully, from June 2014 to September 2014 i have gotten 16 Hard Inquiries and got approved only for 4 Unsecured Credit Cards..........i will not apply again for at least 6 months

Them many inquiries are scary... You most frequently shop a lot and different places. I shop a bit too, but when it's all said and done, I shop at mostly the same places or franchises... How does your credit score look?

How 'bout you put a freeze on all your credit accounts so even if you do get ~~week~~ weak, you can't get the inq? Then, when she is asking in her syrupy voice "would you like to save 20 percent just for applying today -- you don't even have to be approved" tell her go for it, take the 20 percent and be safe in the knowledge that your credit report didn't incur a hard pull because it is FROZEN!!!

So instead of going into the garden, perhaps just go in the freezer?
