Good Will Letter Work Finally!!!

All,

I wanted to share my experienced with you guys, especially for those who are in the same shoe as me right now. Myself like many of you didnt give a **bleep** about credit and screw up badly in our mid 20s right? We all been there, done that.

Life change, family change so when coming to buy a new car or house that's where we got screwed with the credit world. So I'm trying my best to clean up all my debt, trying to have them paid off and working on my credit score.

Make long story short, I had paid off most of my debt from the collection agency, some I paid in full and some I paid as settlement. I did this before I found this forums, so I was stupid not to have them PFD but I was told I'll be in good shape in the long run when lender do manual report credit check seeing them shown as PAID.

Anyways I had the following collection on me

T-Mobile --------->> sold to Midland (Paid settlement) Recieved letter from Agency for Proof with 0 balance

AT&T ------------>> Sold to Southwest credit system (Paid settlement) Recieved letter from Agency for Proof with 0 balance

Comcast--------->> Sold to Southwest Credit System (paid in full) Recieved letter from Agency for Proof with 0 balance

HSBC aka Capital One ---->> Sold to Cavalry Prortfolio Service (paid settlement)

Wells Fargo Dealer Service ------>> Sold to Bay Areas Credit ( was sent offered for settlement 50%, but did not work with them yet)

Here is what I did, instead of GW letter that mailed to them I decided to do some home work and dig up all those company CEO email address. I sent a GW letter by email to CEO, within a day the excutive of those company call me regard to my email.

T-Mobile - called back same day from excutive, was told they sold to midland and there is nothing for them to do with credit report. They do not report to the credit bureaus, only Midland does. They assist me to contact Midland with GW letter see if they can removed from my files.

AT&T- Was deleted right away, not sure why but im assumming its not up to Southwest that report, its actually from AT&T. This was deleted

Comcast- Called me the same day from excutive office they were very nice and polite to me. They will look into with the collection department and will have my file delete. Keeping my fingers cross.

Capital One- I did this last 2 weeks with email and Today I recieved a letter letting me know that they are purging out my file from CR which they did. It was deleted from 3 credit bureaus.

However even I updated my 3 credit bureaus report from each site, myfico report still remain the same. Myfico does NOT update my report yet.

My Fico score

8/23/14

EQ-559 EX-608 Trans-580

As of Today 9/23/14

EQ-556 EX-609 Trans-592

As you can see myfico report doesnt update yet and my score doesnt improve at all especiall my EQ.

When did the changes happen on the CRAs? When did you run the CRA reports and see the changes?

No sure when the change happen but I update my CR last night.

Also one of my capital one account was deleted from Trans and Exper but still remain in Equifax, the excutive called me today they will look into it and have Equifax remove them immediatly.

So far those OC been good to me. I cant complains beside my FICO score still remain the same.

How did you get the paid HSBC/capital one accounts off. I contacted capital one executive offices and they said they couldnt remove them. Do I have to contact HSBC, Can you send me the contact so i can try? And congrats on your recent success.

Hi,

How much did you settle for with Cavalry as a percent? and did they agree to delete their tradeline? I am assuming HSBC charged it off and you had that tradeline and then also Cavalry's tradeline as well.

I am in the same situation, just noticed cap one sold it to them and they appear on my credit report. I don't know If I should send them a DValidation letter or just call and try to settle.. I've heard the worse about them so need to be careful how I approach them. I won't pay more than 10%. Some say never pay them.

Also, your idea to contact the executive office for deletes is great. I did this to get super low settlements approved by Citi on 2 cards, and chase 2 cards. Worked great!

ITs all depend how much you owe the collection and who you dealt with when you called them. I was able to get 60% off from what I old them which is only 166$ I had to paid. I did settlement with them and I didnt know anything about deletion untill I join this forum. I thought if I paid all my collection delete or not it will improve my score but i was wrong.

I think I got lucky with the Cap 1 to deleted off from my CR, I didnt have any agreedment with them. I just simply send them a GW letter, and suprise it was my first attempt.

PS...Just any FYI what I have learn so far from reading this forum and dealing with the OC and CA and also speaking directly to the excutive personell.

Keep in mind that WHOEVER report the collection to your CR, you have to deal with them and have them to agreed to delete off. If you contact the OC and they are NOT the one who report to the CR they will not delete it for you because you have admit that you owe them money and settled with the CA.

Start a thread and states what you need help with and give as much detail as possible. A lot of us are very helpful and full with knowledge in here. I wish I found this site a few years a go.

I am considering writing a letter to capitalone regarding late payments. do you have a template that you can share that you sent? Also how long was it reported as negative on your report before you sent in the letters ?
