$70 Collection Deleted from TransUnion raised my Score 14 pts

I got notifted today that a $70.00 collection got deleted from TransUnion and raised my score by 14 points.

This gives me so much hope! I paid of 14 medical debts totallying around 1000 dollars then I requested 4 more collections to be deleted because I had already paid them. So 16 collections are due to come off anytime. Lets see some major points Then I just have 3 more collections to pay off and all my bad debt is paid off!

Nice job everyone. Very important to negotiate pfd before paying collections. You want it gone not updated to paid.

As stated in this thread.. You want make sure that you negoitated with the creditor/collection agency for the $1000 in debt. You never want to just pay a collection because, a paid collection isn't going to help your score. You want to make sure you negoitated with the Orignal Creditor/Collection Agency to get it removed.

Yes, I did. I had a PFD agreement with them. The four collections that are coming off are before I knew about PFD and I called them and they agreed to delete since I paid (got lucky I guess). Then I already have a PFD agreement with the last 3 collections and those will be paid middle of the month. Then I have one collection left that is being disputed because we asked for validation- never got validation of debt and yet collection activity continued.
