If a complaint is filed with the CFPB and the company is not listed in their system, how long wil it take for them to resolve the dispute. They said they are attempting to get the company registered. I'm not understanding this whole process. Seems like that is designed to work in favor of the CA and not the consumer

I used the CFPB this past summer to fight Capitol One and a collection agency....with GREAT SUCCESS! I did get an email from the CFPB that another collection agency was not registered in their system and it would take a few extra weeks. 1 of 2 things can happen: (1) the agency will register and you get your problem resolved, or (2) the CFPB will contact you and say they could not get hold of the agency and will forward your complaint to the FTC to investigate.
