Over the past 6 months I have spent countless hours repairing my credit myself! I have one collection account I was trying to settle but the collection agency, (ConServe) won't budge. the balance is $2600. It has been on my report for only 2 years. Will paying this off eventually help my score? Right now my scores are 640, 658 and 678. I am afraid it will drop my score. Help!

I would just settle it and if its been updating monthly there wont be any drop in score as it has already occured. Settling it will let it age in Ficos eyes. I would just switch to GW letter campaign after its been settled. Welcome to My Fico
