Have you done a BBB complaint before?

I just read through Allied Interstate LLC's BBB complaints. It looks like they are fairly active in responding to the complaints and work to respolve them as best they can. So I decided to file a complaint there about their not contacting me before putting a trade line on my credit, refusing to give me a receipt for payment if I do pay, and refusing to remove the trade line once paid off claiming its not their practice when searches have revealed it is. (I know they are not required but I'm trying)

I have never filed a BBB complaint before. What usually happens from here? Do I just have to wait to hear from them? Do businesses have to respond or can they pick and choose who they help? I paid the OC so I'm hopingsince they were not the collector to bringin themoney they are willing to just drop the issue. ButI don'thave the money to hold over their heads anymore.

It's fairly simple. You state your case and desired resolution and you wait for the company to respond. If you accept their response then you move on, if you don't then you state your case again.
If the business is accredited, then I believe they have to respond, if they are not, they do not have to respond, however, I think most legit companies do.

I hope you don't have to file with the Detroit area BBB. I have tried 3 times to file a complaint against Asset Acceptance, and they have closed my complaint each time. They say that credit reporting and debt collection practices aren't "in the purvey of the BBB". They refer me to the CFPB. Very frustrating.

Its OH for Allied Interstate. Looking at their BBB page they have responded to a ton of complaints, and they have an A rating. It seems they try to rectify issues.

I lucked out with asset acceptance and got early exclusion.
