I agree with Norman on this. Everybody seems to be caught up on getting something in writing. I've never been able to get anything in writing, but every single CA I've dealt with that promised to delete the tradeline has delivered on that promise. Sometimes they'll mark it paid first and then it will be removed on the next cycle. But as long as they agree to remove it, you should be golden.

I have two small bills from LAbCorp that have been passed to AMCA. $32 and $8 I can pay these off now online but it would be nice if I could get them to delete them from my CR once paid. Best way to go about this? Just call them and ask?

Thanks

I would reccomend calling the collections agency directly and offering to pay in full for deletion off of all three of your credit bureau reports. Make sure they send you something in writing stating that the ding will be removed from your credit reports otherwise there is a chace they will mark the acct as paid and closed, but it will still remain on there.

Another option is to write them a PFD (there are tons of good templates on this forum), but this process takes longer.

Good luck!!

Don't get stuck on demanding it in writing. A verbal agreement on the phone is FULLY ENFORCEABLE, as you have the right to record the call.

For medical debt:

1. Call the OC and ask that they recall the collection in exchange for full payment
2. Send the reporting CA a PFD offer
3. Google the HIPAA Process and contact its creator for help
