I totally understand that the score can fluctuate with no rhymn or reason by as much as 5-10pts, but 46?

I have combed over my last 2 EQ reports (middle of May and a few days ago) and there is just no difference at all. Nothing has dropped off (ex no lates or inquiries or baddies) and no new credit reported. I did pay off my CCs, but they haven't even ran billing yet so I know thats not even sitting out there anywhere.

I mean, I'm real happy, but just would like to know what triggered it so I can do it again

Just weird... a really kind of happy weird though

That's a head scratcher!

You mentioned you paid off your credit card. Is that card(s) a Chase card? Chase updates to the CRAs once you've paid off an account without having to wait for an statement to cut.

Anyways, huge congrats on the awesome point jump!

Thank you! (and nope, they're both Cap1 cards). One already had a zero balance on the last report and the other was only 30% uti and score only dropped about 10 pts when that hit last month, so I'm sure paying that off wouldn't trigger an increase this big anyway. I hope it's not a mistake in the fico scoring model that will catch up and drop by that much again :/

The simulator is now working again for me and when I first opened it, I clicked on the 'what would happen if you took out a mortgage" and didn't get a chanced to put anything in for an amount, it was defaulted to $3,000,000 and showed that my score would not change at all!! haha, that's priceless!

This is CRAZY!!! I logged in to pull my free Experian report that comes with my subscription there and my EX score (they use FICO scores now for those who haven't heard yet), and it jumped 56 pts!!! NO REASON for it... NOTHING HAS CHANGED on that report either!

what the heck could be going on for jumps this high with no triggers noted?!

You generally get a nice upward bump when you get 24 months of "clean" payment history behind you, and revolving accounts become "mature" at 24 months. Both of those in combination could easily be responsible for such a big rise.

Now I know why (I think) my scores increased so much. The only thing that happen within a day or so before was that one of the new auto loans updated on all three reports. Still, I'm surprised it jumped so much, it was only the second update on that loan. Unless it's because my score was already suffering due to the absence of any auto loan history 3 months before, and now I have TWO.

could that be it?
