Sometimes hope come out of nowhere!

My credit has been horrible for a long time. Honestly, I long ago gave up on even thinking about good credit. When I was young I made some mistakes and seven years seemed like an eternity. About the time my credit would have recovered I had an accident, had a lot of surgeries and a good long hospital stay ( no insurance at the time of course ). I tried to pay what I could but 165,000 at 50 to 100 a month seemed pointless. So I gave up. Figured I would just never have good credit. To get a car loan I would go to buy here pay here lots. They don't check credit but if your late on one payment they repo and report to the CRAs. Anyway, about a year ago I got a loan at the dealership I work at, thru in house financing. They reported to EX and a year later I decided I needed something with better gas mileage. When they pulled my report my score went up 100 points to 620. I was able to get a loan thru a local CU. Credit Union 1 called me asked a few questions and offered to help me rebuild my credit. They approved me for a new car 33,000, and issued me a credit card not secured ( 500cl ). I closed Wells Fargo and moved my accounts ( they didn't ask. How could I not ). It's been been three months. I am waiting on a secured Capitol one card that was just mailed. Tiffany ( the rep that approved my loan ) from CU1 called and let me know she is putting in the paperwork for a personal line of credit (1000 dollars that will show revolving ), because I just past 90 days of direct deposit. I've been on this board for a couple months now everyday. I have learned a lot and have sent out my first round of letters. I'm actually thinking about buying a house in 2 years. After all this time. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Don't get me wrong, I still have a long way to go but it is possible. I want to say thank you for the info on this site, and to Tiffany even if she won't read it. I've probably thanked her enough, she probably doesn't want to here it anymore. Lol. Just thought I'd share.

Yes they did! I don't want to bank with anyone else. They bought a member for life! Lol

Today I received my capital on secured 200cl then my loan officer from my CU called and wanted to pull my credit. She said she thought she could get my a CLI. I told her she could and she called back with a CLI from 500 to 2000!!!

They are awesome! It's an Alaska credit union. I'm from Texas and have been a member of other CUs and a couple of bank and never had near this much help. It does help that they use experian and that's my highest score.

How come you appd for a secured cap 1? with a 620 score you could have gotten unsecured I would guess.

That's my top score my others are 595 and 579. CU1 apparently uses EX.
