Mortgage TL removal ?

I have an old mortgage account that was included in a BK and date of last activity was 10/08 on my credit report. While I have read that most creditors remove files with negative info after 7 years, I really would like to have this acct go away now. Ironically, the 2nd mortgage which was taken out at the same time has already fallen off.

What would be the best steps? Submit a dispute to EQ directly or send a letter to the creditor.

Loan was through VHDA

If 2008 was the date of first Deliquency then you could request an early exclusion. You are almost at the 7 year mark and I've seen others get early exclusions 6 months before the drop off date.

How would I confirm the date of first deliq? I see date of last activity, date opened, and status date

You should get your free annual report. It should have this info on there.

just pulled my EQ and verified date of first deliq was 10/08

Then you should be able to request an early exclusion
