HIPAA Process Clarification?

Hi,

I have a paid medical collection that hasn't been PROPERLY verified by CA after pre- HIPAA letter. I sent scenario 3 (alternate med DV) letter to CA, have GC dated 12/13, but have heard nothing more, and collection still on EQ.

The process now states to send a follow-up dispute letter to the CRA.

My questions are these -

EQ considers this as already having been verified a month or so ago. What is the purpose of sending essentially the same letter again to the same CRA? I will be enclosing the GC and copy of letter to CA...but I guess I don't understand why their response will be different this time..?

Also, does it make sense to wait longer to hear from CA in response to alt med DV letter?

(I know I should just follow the process exactly, I'm just trying to understand what I'm doing.)

Was you original dispute with the CRA just a dispute or the HIPPA process dispute?

the HIPAA process dispute.

(pre-hipaa medical dispute letter to CRA - the CA "verified", but not fully.)

per advice from here, I sent the "alternative med letter to the ca" - per scenario 3.

- essentially I'm nervous to be disputing an item that was just verified, and trying to understand the next step in the process.

You say the "CA verified, but not fully", what did they send you?

I honestly do not know that much about the HIPPA process. I do know that you need to follow it as it says to do. If you do not you may not get the item deleted.

I know that is not answering your questions.

PM one of the mods that has medical in their signature. You might get a quicker response.

Thanks fused, for responding - it's got to be tough being the resident expert on this process - I do appreciate your help.

no, I haven't gotten anything directly from the CA - this was the response I got back from the CRA stating it was verified after sending the pre-hipaa letter.

to review:

I sent the pre-hipaa to CRA and they responded "verified" with the results listed above- (not the verification asked for in the pre-hipaa letter). I then sent the follow up (scenario 3) to the CA and have gotten no response other than the GC.
