Ok everyone knows Equifax is an albatross around my neck. They sent me into a blue funk when they dropped my score by 86 points. Today I decided I am going to get to the bottom of this. So, here goes. Since May I have gotten 4 baddies removed from equifax. I have 3 collections and one derogatory left. The collections are 2 medical collections that the hospital failed to file correctly on my insurance, and an account apparently opened by my ex after we were divorced. There derogatory is 90-120 days late on a student loan. I have opened 2 capital one cards and 7 store cards, plus a $500 credit builder loan in the past 6 months, and a car loan that I have had for 9 months. There are no late payments on any of these. Length of credit history is 6 years, 3 months and AAoA is 1 year and 11 months. The reasons equifax gives for my horrific low score is too many new credit cards, a high percentage of recently opened accounts, and insufficient information about a mortgage (because I don't have a mortgage). It doesn't mention the collections or derogatory at all.

So, here's my question. Should I even bother disputing these remaining items, and run the risk of rebucketing since equifax is not listing them as reasons for my low scores? Or should I let well enough alone? I am at a loss as to what my next step should be.

Google it to find out whats needed.

No need for the credit builder loan, you have the auto loan.

Yeah I got suckered on the cb loan. I was told I needed it to show a variety of credit types, as an auto loan is considered a collateral loan and the cb loan is completely unsecured. Live and learn. I just don't know if having these negatives removed is even worth the hassle at this point. The one from my ex is almost old enough to be time barred. The medical collections will be a battle I am sure. Sigh. I hate credit and credit scores and reports and the whole 9 yards today.

So naturally I got an alert that one of my scores changed. Equifax dropped another 3 points. I am so disheartened with this. Ugh.
