I sent a PFD and Diversified Consultant deleted

They deleted it before I paid or recieved a letter. What does this mean? Could they not validate the debt? Should I sebd payment so it doesn't come back?

Most likely they deleted because they no longer own it or have collection authority on it.

If yu have a pressing need to satisfy the debt for some reason, such as you are in the middle of a mortgage app process that is requring satisfaction of the debt, then I would give the debt collector a call. They may be able to give you info as to who now owns the debt, and thus who to contact.

Oc was sprint. It removed a late and a collection. Fingers crossed it stays off.

Not in the mortgage process yet. But I'm fixing my credit so I can be within the next 6ish months. I'm afraid to call. I don't want to bring it up and make them relist it. I just called them about a week and a half ago and then sent a PFD letter a few days after, so about a week ago. I feel like it was a result of the letter I'm just not sure why. Maybe they sent a letter agreeing that I haven't recieved yet or maybe they couldn't validate. I'm going to give it a week. If nothing, then I'll call.

Now would be a good time to contact Sprint and pay them directly before they send it to another collector.

I had a sprint account pop up with them in Jan of this year as well, it was previously with Enhanced Recovery in 2013 and I had luck disputing inaccuracies and having it removed while under both collection agencies. They seem to be an easy company to rid yourself of. Just hoping it doesn't pop up again LOL

Ok so it turns out they sold it to AFNI. Do I pay before they report. Will they not report if I pay right away?

Contact AFNI and make arrangements before it reports (still make sure that it wont). pay to have no report made....

Or Contact Sprint and see if you can pay them and have them recall it from AFNI before it reports.....

Yes, AFNI is good about not reporting if you pay it promptly.

Thats unfortunate, I had really good luck with Diversified and T-Mobile, I settled the account from 1950 to 1400 and waited a few months, GW letter to T-Mobile and as of last week both the original T-Mobile collections and diversified are off my credit. Good luck!
