Help TAX Lien

I just got a tax lien reported on my credit for $7400 that I owe. I sent them $2500 a month ago but apparently they need the full payment or it hits as a lien. Is there anything I can do to get this lien completely deleted? I can pay it in full. Anyone with related experience, Id appreciate the help!

All you can do is get it paid off so they will release the lien. In general a tax lien will stay on your report forever until you get it released but once it is released then I think it stays 7 years. If you pay it off within a year you can get some of the points back you have lost...I got 24pts on Ex when I paid mine off ( did it in 11 months). Hope this helps.

State or Federal?

it could be helpful to attempt to negotiate immediate payment in full in exchange for withdrwal of the lien...
