I have sent in three disputes -- each one they responded w/ info is accurate, reach out to credit agencies. Ugh!!!!! I need to get them off my report. So upsetting...

What did you assert as inaccurate reporting, and is their reporting still considered to be inaccurate?

The information that was reported to each CRA was different... I cut and pasted and explained each one. Maybe I should file a complaint w/ BBB or CFPB. Not sure it will help. My DOFD was Sept 2009. So I'm assuming it will fall off in 2017.

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a Notice of Direct Dispute with you, under the provisions of FCRA 623(a)(8)(D), of the accuracy of information you have posted to my credit file. After some further investigation on my part, I am concerned that the reporting to Equifax, Experian and Transunion may be inaccurate. In compliance with FCRA 623(a)(8)(D), and enacting regulations published at 74 Fed Reg 31484 (July 1, 2009), this Notice includes:

Identification of the specific information being disputed

Transunion, Experian and Equifax reporting for Account Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I do not have the last 4 digits of the account number as they are blocked out on my credit reports.

Basis for the dispute:

Equifax doesn’t report an account number and 1 90 day late in October 2009 with no high balance. Transunion doesn’t have last activity and Equifax shows August 2009. Transunion shows zero lates. Experian 30 day late in November 2009, 60 in December 2009, 90 day lates December 2010, January 2010, Feb 2010, March 2010, April 2010.

Supporting documentation:

I have included the excerpts of my credit reports showing how these accounts are reporting

Under the provisions of FCRA 623(a)(8)(E), you have the duty to review all of the information in this Notice of Dispute, to complete your investigation, and report back to me the results of your investigation, within 30-days of my Notice of Dispute.

In addition, I humbly request that you provide me with complete transaction and payment history, a copy of any signed contracts or agreements, and total outstanding balance you believe I owe.

A creditor is not required to report the same information to all CRAs.

The issue is whether what they have reported is, in fact, accurate, and not whether they chose to report to all CRAs.

What reporting is clearly inaccurate?

I don't see any base for dispute, if your trying to get them off your report, then you may want to try GW approach.

I had good luck with getting 1 removed with a GW. I had 2 accounts with them. I gave it some time after they deleted 1 ( I asked for both to be deleted) I just send another goodwill after about 3 months to ask for the second one to be deleted.
I'm not going to lie. It took about 6 months for them to delete 1, but I just kept at it. I'm hoping this other one won't take as long but I'm in it for the long haul. Or 3 years until it falls off

And if you send that letter to EO they will verify the charge off and add a coment to your report. They caught up to that method. Fyi

im in the same boat... charge off of around $450. I am honestly considering just paying them to make the account show as paid and not have to explain that account when applying for a lease or loan. Any thoughts out there? Are they more likely to delete the account if I PIF?

OP - if nothing else, contact the CRA's either by letter or by phone and ask for EE of the account. Some posters have said that the CRA's won't remove it more than 3 months out but others have had accounts which were more than 3 months out.

I paid my account with them in full. They refused to delete the account. They however did offer to open me a new account which I quickly refused!
