The reason why you apply now is because you will one get one hard inquiry for both application while if you wait then you will have two hard inquiries. Congrats. I got both of mine platinum with 1000 and qs with 500 on the same day within minutes of each other. I got mine in Dec. and today I was able to convert the platinum into a qs rewards no fee. in 6 months after I get my credit steps cli I will combine them both. Good Luck!

U got urs in December don't wait 6 months for credit step. Go hit luv button and see if they will give u an increase. Lots of ppl get 1 increase after 3rd statement and 2nd for credit step. I started with 500 and 6 weeks later one card was at 2000 and another at 3000 and now I'm still waiting for credit step but applied for a QS got SL of 8000 and venture SL of 15000

I did something similar (product changed a platinum to a QS One, both with annual fees). The way the rep explained it to me was you could only product change MC to MC or Visa to Visa. Since the Quicksilver card is a Visa, and the Quicksilver One is a MC, there is no way to really "combine" them. Least that's my understanding.

YEP! There are 2 different kinds of Platinum and QS1 cards out there and they act quite differently. I believe they are all MC ( I know the new ones are) and can not be PC'd to a Visa. The older Plat's have an AF where the new ones don't. I need to start a thread about them since there is some confusion when referring to them as some people have one set and not the other.

Think I'll go do that now!!!

Unfortunately when I tried a few days ago after my 3rd statement I received a 2-3 document saying my account was too new. However, the secured card I've had for almost a year in April, I asked for cli in Dec and was told that they don't cli secure and two statements later back in feb. 2016 there was a 300$ increase. I hope the same happens with these two. I've heard stories like that here. That people request don't get it and then it shows a cli within two statements.

Mynewcredit - keep trying every couple of days. Cap1 will SP reports every so often. They may be looking at an old report

Speaking from experience, literally a few days ago I am starting to rebuild credit and applied for the Platinum card, then found out I could apply again for the Quicksilver 1 and it may not get another HP, unfortunately my timing was off (like 12 hours between applying) and got a second HP, no biggy though. Hope the OP was able to apply and get approved without another HP.

Yea they don't do cli for the secured card at least not when customer request. I have secured card and only got 1 auto increase from 200 to 500. I'm getting ready to close that account. Now wait till you pay ur 3rd statement and try again
