Hi, thanks for any replies in advance.../spoke to mercantile and they are agreeing to delete account of paid in full, they won't not send any verif or agreement until I pay it...they say they will send me a fax once I send the payment...should I trust them? Thanks!!! They want me to call back in 10 mins, nerve wrecking ugh lol

I was advised not to pay for PFD until you get it in writing.

If I have a a record of the call would that make them liable for deleting the account even if they don't want to

I can only share my experience and I can't say yours will be the same but I've recently done this within the last 4 months and each of the collection agencies that told me they would give me a letter did give me a letter. The letter was never available immediately but it didn't seem to take very long. At least if it's paid you can try to dispute it by stating. #1 the account is settled in full #2 the company agreed to delete it from your report. Good luck.

Go for it...if they don't do it make their life miserable by filing complaints with the BBB, and CFPB. A verbal agreement is a contract.

I didn't call, I got scared and didn't, but was thinking of calling tomorrow and try to negotiate, have you have any bad experiences?

RECORD THE CALL. Verbal agreements are fully binding under the law. You do NOT need to get it in writing.
