First premier agreed to delete collection

Recieved a letter from first premier for removal of my collection with them due to age and inaccuracies.

Will forwarding the letter to credit bureaus speed up the removal of this? Or just wait it out, they said allow 30 days for removal

Wow that's fantastic Nightrider1! Congrats on the success with First Premier. I would let the creditor's actions naturally run the course of removal through each CRA. No need in sending in a dupilate letter that FP is already sending in. Just keep it on hand and if you dont see it update in a month to two months send it in.

Could you provide any more data points on your success? Status of the account, amount owed, age of the account, etc.? This information could prove to be monumental for others. Thanks and CONGRATS AGAIN!

5.5 yrs,$472 and they wasn't reporting correct to each bureau. I found a thread on here and followed their outline. I'll post a link tonight, my phone is acting up and won't let me paste it.

They are the OC.

The debt collector reported their assigned collection.

I am assuming that they are telling you that they are terminating their collection assignment.

It is then the responsibility of the debt collector to report the deletion of their reporting.

The OC does not control that reporing, and a letter from them is not authority for the CRA to delete the reporting by another party.

Wait for the creditor to notify their prior debt collector of termination,and then time for that debt collector to fufill their requirment to report deletion to the CRA.

and if they don't delete after the 30 days and then we contact them and they still don't delete, what can we do?

That's a good question. Not knowing the exact right answer to that, if it were me, it would be then that I would dispute it. The letter itself said that they had inaccuracies. That would help the investigation of the dispute.

Then the issue is what they meant by "due to age and inaccuracies."

Some inaccuracies are simply correctible and dont require deletion of the entire collection.

Neither a credtior nor a debt collector is ever required to delete based on age. If credit report exclusion has come about, then the exclusion is done by the CRA, and no deletion is mandated by the creditor or debt collector.

What could be done to require deeltion would depend upon what is inaccurate.

What promtped their letter? Was it a finding in a formal dispute that asserted an inaccuracy, and if so, what was the asserted inaccuracy?

There is not enough info to provide a required basis for deletion. As of now, it appears to only be a one-sided advisory.

I received the same letter of delete within 30 days from them yesterday as well. I tried to email their eo office and received no response. The following week I went to the BBB with my inaccuracies and snapshots of my 3 reports including myfico. They responded within a week with this letter.

My inaccuracies were, date of open were all over the place. payments(which I know I had no more than 2 late payments ranged between 2 and 16 between the 3 bureaus. The status of the account, the last date of activity, the DOFD etc were all different across the board.

That was my case.

Now they sent this letter and I will personally wait it out for the next 29 days. I just wanted to know what to do if they don't make good after providing this letter. I had my cable company CA give me a letter over 30 days ago and I contacted them and they said that they have submitted the request for delete twice yet nothing has been deleted for this last paid bill. In another hand I just did a PFD on a medical collection and they told me they would submit it last Friday and this week it was gone off my report. Which means they have the power to delete if they chose to on the day that they choose to. I know some cra are slower than others. But hopefully there is something that we can do if they don't make good yet they gave us this letter.

We shall wait and see.

edit to say: my letter does not specify the inaccuracies. It simply says they apologize for reporting inaccurately and that they will proceed and delete the record from the cra's within 30 days.I do have the bbb dispute in my case that I can reference if need be as well as all of the snapshots from all 3 agencies showing the differences.

you can search here for the post that we both used to get this done. there is hope with this one so long you truly have a scenerio where they messed up their reporting and they don't want to deal with it further.

I received my letter from First Premier yesterday also saying they would delete in 30 days due to inaccuracies. I emailed and opened a BBB complaint. It took 11 days to get a reply from them but I am extremely happy.
