Welcome to the forums!

I'd suggest reading the following:

What Steps Do I Take

In general, don't contact the CAs or the associated OCs unless SOL has expired or your have the $$$ to PIF. Paying an old debt can possibly restart SOL (depending on your state's laws).

I am trying to rebuild my credit after some mishaps in 2004 and 2005. I haven't contact the CAs yet, what are my next steps. Can I offer them less money than is owed to have it removed from my CR? If I pay it can they still sue me if it's within the SOL? I am confused and just want it to stop haunting me. One of them was from a utility company the other was from a vet that performed emergency surgery.
