So what is your experience with capital one credit line increases? My 4th statement is about to cut tomorrow. How long am I stuck at $2000 CL?

Jan 21, 2016

Applied for Platinum approved for $1000 CL

Applied for QS1 approved for $1000 CL

Feb 23, 2016

Upgraded Platinum to QuickSilver

March 24, 2016

QS CLI approved for $2000 CL

QS1 CLI approved for $2000 CL

April 15, 2016

QS CLI denied (Reason - There has been a recent change to credit line.)

QS1 CLI denied (Reason - There has been a recent change to credit line.)

May 15, 2016

QS CLI denied (Reason - There has been a recent change to credit line.)

If you are in the credit steps program, then after the 5th payment, there is generally a credit limit increase, then every 6 months (if eligible). After the credit steps program ends, then increases are based on score, charging history, and payment history.

Hubby got his QS1 and Platinum in November. Upgraded the Platinum to QS in February and received his CLI's the same month (the next week I think). His 6th statement cut on the 6th of May and he received his credit steps increase on the 6th and it was on that statement.

So how does one know if your in the credit steps program?

Hubby and I both received emails saying something along the lines of 'your on your way to a credit increase' for each card

I was chatting with the Capital One rep.

I am in the credit steps program, which will officially end once the 7th statement cuts.

Because I received a CLI back in March, I can continue to request but generally won't get another increase for six months.

So it looks like I am stuck with these credit lines until August.

In my experience with Capital One, regardless of whether or not you get an early CLI, you will still get the CLI you were promised for completing the Credit Steps program after your 6th statement cuts.

The rep said I would get a $500 CLI at the conclusion of the credit steps program.

I got a $100 increase in November which was at 3 months brought me up to $400 and then I got a $350 increase in April! I've had the QS1 card for 9 months now. I guess I can't get another CLI until October It's OK though, I'll just pay down my husband's and my cards and hopefully get a better increase! LOL
