Glad I found this thread. I have the same problem 2 different CA's reporting what appears to be the same 3 medical bills. However just in the last 2 days the ones on TU fell off. I looked at my Experian report its still there. Experian seems to take longer removing things from the report than anyone else. Also the bills were from 2002 when I was pregnant, the statue of limitations for reporting this as a debt is 4yrs as far as I can tell. Where should I start disputing this or should I just wait. By the way I dont want to pay it.

PS can anyone tell me where I can find the dates for drop off on my CR?

I see my account with Directv was reported by two different CA. I am assuming one CA purchased it from the first CA. Do I write the PFD to both CA's?

I dont think 2 CA can report and collect at the same time. I had 2 CA reporting for one account, I wrote a dispute to the CRA and both where deleted within 2 weeks. Seems to me that either one or none have any right to this account.

You also might want to read my fellow moderator's link in my sig line, DV, PFD...What should I do.

midnight_passion, Because you do not want to pay then you can not use the HIPAA process. The drop date is 7 years from the date of service.

You need to check with your state to see what medical is considered, as to SOL. Some states would put it under Promissory note. There are a few states that use open account SOL.

Also there is no SOL on hospital debt in many states.

Drop dates are typed in with wording like : will remain on CR until month/year.

On TU one CA show that the account was assigned on 12/08 and reported on 1/09. The previous CA was assigned 5/08 and reported 9/08. On staus line it is not reported.

On Equifax same dates as above. And on status line says not reported.

On Experian same dates as above. But, on status line it says account seriously past due, turned over to CA or attorney, or internal collection.

I dug up the letters from CA and they both state to make check payable to Directv. Shouldn't the check be made payable to the CA, if they truly were the owners of this debt?
