Help needed with First Premier COs please!!

I opened two accounts in 2009 with my ex-fiancé (first mistake) because I had no credit (in college) and he had bad credit. I thought the accounts were closed after we split in 2011 and low and behold-they are both now CO on my credit reports!! They are reported differently with all three bureaus and I can't quite make sense of it all. I just want to figure out how to get these gone! I don't even know how the balance got so high! Credit limits were only $300/$250 but not it shows balance of $780 and $690.

I guess at least I learned not to ever put an authorized user on any accounts ever again.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

What is the DOFD on the accounts? The damage has already been done, and if your estimations are correct, the accounts should be falling off your reports next year or sooner or later, depending on DOFD. Are the accounts reporting as collections also? More information regarding these accounts would be appreciated.

Were they joint accounts, or was one party only an authorized user?

Both accounts were in my name and I had him as an authorized user.

I would suggest getting your free annual credit report as it will tell you what the accounts true exclusion date will be. As it stands based on the data you have presented, it is looking as if it will be closer to 2020 for exclusion. I have not had an experience with GW deletion with FP, but that it something that you could attempt. The late fees and over limit charges is probably what ended up making the balances that high.

That's what I'm assuming made the balance so high-it's been so long now I honestly can't remember. It looks like it will be 2021 for deletion in its own...so far away!

These accounts are only reported as chargeoffs and not collections on my reports so that's at least a silver lining I guess.

If there are not any collections, then if you have the money to pay the COs then you could prevent further collection activity.
